Facing

FACING, a mechanical process involving the removal of chip, is the most common milling operation and can be performed using a wide range of tools. The cutter, whose choice depends on the type and characteristics of the work to be performed, when rotating, performs the cut, combining the translational movements on the piece along the three axes X, Y and Z.

Sir Meccanica’s milling machines and specifically the FMax flange facing series are designed to perform facing operations on circular surfaces, by adjusting and combining all the movements, independently, via an intuitive and easy-to-use electronic control panel.
