History

The history of Sir Meccanica began around 1965, when Rinaldo Siracusa sensed the need for innovation compared to the traditional methods used in workshops for repairing earthmoving machinery.
1991
In 1991, Sir Meccanica launched its first portable machine tool, the BIMOTOR, which represented a radical change in the world of repairs, as it eliminated the need to transport or completely dismantle the over-worn machinery, allowing grinding operations directly on the work site.
1992
In 1992, in response to emerging market needs, Sir Meccanica introduced the BIMOTOR PLUS, a significant evolution of the previous model that offered additional features, such as overlay welding. This feature allowed to restore, with a single set-up, any worn hole to its original dimensions, thus eliminating the need for larger bushings.
This development is not just an improvement, but a true evolution in the field of machine tools.
1995
In 1995, the BIMOTOR PLUS HIGH PERFORMANCE took market standards to the next level.
Both the structure and the mechanics were revolutionized, enabling the longitudinal stroke of the machine to become unlimited. To make the most of this innovation, connectable shafts were created for the first time.
This model was equipped with a through shaft that allowed boring to invisible depths, achieving unprecedented precision. Thanks to the new connectable shafts and to the unlimited longitudinal stroke, the BIMOTOR PLUS HIGH PERFORMANCE stands out as an excellent product for operations such as drilling, tapping, boring and overlay welding.
1999
The birth of the S series, in 1999, marks the beginning of a new era for portable machine tools. The overhaul of the motors leads to a speed management from 0 to X RPM, offering total control and monitoring of the production process. The SIR1, SIR2 and SIR3 models use direct current (DC) motors to ensure perfect linearity of movement, precise speed detection and to guarantee an almost imperceptible level of noise emission.
2001
In 2001, Sir Meccanica consolidated its market leadership with the launch of the Ws series in-line boring and overlay welding machine tools, characterized by an advanced rotation transmission system, optimized mechanics with worm gear - helical wheel type reductors, powerful magnetized and individually tested motors, and a revolutionary design.
The Ws series, consisting of eight models, works on diameters from Ø22 mm to Ø1700 mm, carrying out on-site repairs of ovalized holes and pivot points of large and small machinery with extreme precision. Thanks to the implementation of connectable shafts with conical coupling, the Ws in-line boring machines guarantee an immediate set-up and a precise coaxial alignment, which reduces the restoration time by about 95%.
2003
Our persistent search for precision and technological development, combined with creativity and expertise, led to the innovation of the first portable CNC machine tools, capable of creating external geometric profiles, typically possible only with stationary machinery.
Thus, the TOP series was born, our pioneer among portable CNC machine tools.
2005
The solid experience and the innovation in CNC systems, motorizations and kinematics, together with the state-of-the-art control panels that paved the way for new on-site technical solutions, were the springboard for a new and unprecedented series: the Ws CNC.
Unlike the TOP, the Ws CNC series allows machining of any internal geometric profile. The combination of the WS series with the CNC features elevates the concept of multifunction portable machine tools to a top performance level, enabling the resolution of more complex problems.
2009
The expansion of the production plant to 18,000 m2 marked a significant step forward in the production of large-scale machines, leading to the creation of the new FMAX series, equipped with circular milling machines for operations up to Ø 6000 mm.
The new models extend our reach beyond the traditional earth-moving sector, responding to the growing needs of new alternative energy systems, such as wind energy, which require on-site repairs.
2014
In 2014, Sir Meccanica's success is confirmed by achieving 95% of its turnover from exports and is endorsed by obtaining the status of Authorised Exporter, which consists in independently carrying out all import/export Customs procedures.
This translates into more efficient operations that reduce costs and waiting time for customers.
2021
In 2021, Sir Meccanica reached an important milestone: 30 years of excellence and innovation in the mechanical sector, achieved thanks to the love, passion, dedication, foresight and spirit of sacrifice of the founder Rinaldo Siracusa.
"2021 is also the year of mourning for his loss even though his legacy is as strong as ever, continuing to push us to never give up with his famous motto: “Giorno finché ce n’è, notte finché ce ne vuole”.
2023
Sir Meccanica presented itself to the world with a new graphic design, which summarises the archetypes of: authority, security, reliability, strength, success, efficiency and desire to excel, which represent the foundations and guidelines of our company.
2023 is also the year in which Sir Meccanica obtained the Gender Equality certification, which confirms our commitment to a fair and inclusive work environment.
2024
Sir Meccanica is looking toward an eco-sustainable future by modernising the plant with the introduction of solar panels, making the facility and the entire on-site process energy self-sufficient, from design to production, from customer service to shipping.
